Hey folks, we're getting ready to close out the week and we have 5 great acts for you to settle into your weekend. Kicking it off tonight, we welcome Friction Farm to the stage. Friction Farm is guitarist/vocalist Aidan Quinn and bassist/vocalist Christine Stay. With just two people and two instruments, they create a lot of sound and a diverse repertoire. Friction Farm’s sound is built around Aidan’s big jangly guitar strum. He’ll hypnotize your feet into tapping along, then snap you out of it with some intricate flat picking. Christine has a vocal and lyrical intensity that conveys a wide range of expression, intimate and vulnerable in one song, powerful and angst ridden in the next. With Aidan’s vocal thrown in the mix they recall classic 60's harmonies. Kicking things off for Friction Farm, we welcome local duo, Turnlight, to the stage. Doors at 6PM show time at 8PM - $5. Tomorrow we have a triple bill lined up for you with 3 of the area's best. We've had the pleasure of hosting two of these acts here at The Hideaway Cafe at our "Living Room Live" events and I can assure you, we're in for some fine musicianship folks. Roots rockers, Trigger City Trio, kick it off at 8 PM followed by soloist, Kenny Mullins. Closing out the night, we welcome Danfield as they make their debut as a 3 piece. John Holt III fronts Danfield with his effortless guitar playing and big league vocals. He played a few last night at our writers' night and hushed the audience from the first note. John and front man from Trigger City Trio go way back and both can hang with anyone on guitar... I'm sure they'll have some fun going head to head at some point. Big fun! Doors at 6PM show time at 8PM - $5 Thanks to last week's performers, Lyndsay Wojcik, Ashley Jones and Doug & Telisha Williams. What a weekend! All returned for their second visit and we're so grateful they came back to share their music and friendship with us. Special thanks to all the local singer songwriters including special feature artist, Julie Clark, for providing another stellar week of original music. Also to this week's artists.... thank you. Last night was a home run from start to finish... really great songs and performances all night long. Please make it down to support our writer's nights.... you never know what you're going to get and you won't believe the talent the strolls through these doors! |
