Fundraiser Big Success!

Thanks to everyone who participated in Sunday's Fundraiser for Sergeant Thomas Baitinger and K-9 Officer Jeffrey A. Yaslowitz. We had terrific success and have so many people to thank. To all our wonderful musicians for their time and talent, to our staff of professional helpers, to our wonderful community of businesses that donated gift certificates and services, to all our wonderful guests that made it possible and to the several St. Petersburg Police Officers that popped in to show their support...we thank you. Thanks to you, we were able to raise roughly $3300 for the families of these brave men in just four short hours.

I was asked "if there were one thing you would like the families to know, what would that be?" and without too much hesitation, I think I answered, "we care!" St. Pete cares about these two men and their families. On one of the busiest days of the year, Superbowl Sunday, folks stopped by to lend a hand and to donate their time, talent and money in memory of two very courageous police officers. I think that says it all. Nicole and I were both taught to celebrate the lives of those we lose and as hard as that sounds (and, frankly, I just don't know how I would myself), we tried to do just that!
